Distributing Video Over Cat5 and Cat7: Things You Need to Know About Video Distribution Through Cat5 or Cat7

When thinking of setting up your home video system, it means that you should know something about distributing video over CAT5 and CAT7 because it is the kind of system that will broadcast optimum performance. It also means that you can now have your source from a distance away from the display device, television or monitor.

There are three (3) general types of video distribution system:
1) Analog or Baseband
2) Internet Protocol
3) Radio Frequency

Any of these types may use coaxial cables, category 5 or more commonly known as CAT5 cables, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6e or CAT7 cables. What are the differences between them?

1) CAT-5 distributes video up to 100M.
2) CAT-5e 350M.
3) CAT-6 and CAT6e distributes video as far as 550M to 1000M
4) CAT-7 is rated from 700M to 1000M.

Viewing Video Over CAT5 or CAT7

Video over CAT5 or CAT7 like those delivered by CATV, data, and telephone are all distributed in similar wiring closets. It delivers videos that may run along a distance of 100M for CAT 5 or even up to 1000M for CAT7. Video over CAT5 or CAT7 all goes out on the same cabling system. The system is channeled in a passive broadband balun that converts any uneven coaxial signal into a balanced signal through the video over CAT5 or CAT7. Even when distributed to different channels simultaneously, it will not slow down the network because the air analog signals do not travel on that similar network, and thus, it does not rely on the bandwidth of the video signals.

Presently, the use of FTP or UTP cables for audio and video needs is prevalent. Instead of using coaxial cables, CAT5 and CAT7 cables are used. Coax are first installed into the hubs and everything else is distributed through the FTP/UTP. Video over CAT7 or CAT5 for that matter are now possible at a limited cost. There is ease in the installation and location change is not a big deal. All one needs to do is connect patch cords from the distribution hub to the patch panel and have a single port converter connected to the television.

Advantages of a Video System Using CAT5 and CAT7

1) Video over CAT5 or CAT7 is cost effective as it eliminates the need for additional coaxial cables.
2) Configuration of video over CAT5 or CAT7 is much easier than having multiple splitter taps, amplifiers and combiners of coax.
3) A high quality signal is maintained as the distribution system of video over CAT5 or video over CAT7 uses active RF video hubs. It makes automatic slope adjustments hence all video channels’ image quality is sustained.
4) The video distribution system of CAT5 or CAT7 can carry out voice and auxiliary signals simultaneously. There are no interferences between the voice and video data.
5) A system with video over CAT5 or CAT7 allows video streaming from the computer and it is made possible through a broadband video system.

Distributing video over CAT5 and CAT7 is made possible through an RF broadband system. It broadcasts CATV, HDTV, internally generated video, video-on-demand services, and satellite videos through twisted pairs of CAT5 or CAT7 cables.

Know the difference of how your video system will work. Systems working with video over CAT5 and systems running video over CAT7 will have their own advantages and disadvantages that you have to evaluate.

The whole program is located in one source. When the source starts playing, the sound tracks being decoded simultaneously.

Surround sounds have different formats. They are, Dolby Digital, Dolby Surround, Dolby Pro Logic II X, Dolby Digital EX, DTS, Dolby True HD, True Surround XT, and DTS-ES etc. There are a variety of Surround sound speakers.

Front right and front left speakers

These two speakers are most important in the surround sound system. All the major sounds come from these two speakers. For such importance most of the manufacturing companies keep an eye on these two speakers especially. They always try to make it powerful and high quality. These speakers are very much used in CD players, home theatres etc.

Center channel speaker

It is a small size speaker. It is normally placed below or above the TV set. It delivers the dialogues of the TV or cinema. It makes the dialogues clear. This speaker is shielded magnetically. So they are not able to harm the TV set. Normally the mid range frequencies are being handled by this speaker.

Rear channel speaker

This speaker is placed according to the seating arrangement of the listener. The speaker models also define the placement arrangement of this speaker. For instance, in a 5.1 surround sound set up, there are two such speakers and they are placed right behind the listeners. Four speakers are allotted for the 6.1 version. Here, two speakers are placed behind the head of the listener and two on either side of the listener.

Subwoofer is a very important part of surround sound speaker. The subwoofer produces extremely low frequencies. It will be a great help for you, when you are watching an action movie or listening to a music that consists a lot of percussion. It also produces deep bass. All About The Sound Technology

Sound is produced when an object moves or vibrates. Without movement there could be no sound. Sound Forge software allows you to edit, record, encode, and master nearly any form of digital audio including WAV, AIFF, and MP3.

Whether you’re new to editing audio or you’re a seasoned audio engineer, there is a Sound Forge product that is right for you. Sound Ergonomics brings together 2 leading experts in the study and application of ergonomics to the ultrasound profession.

Sound systems at most of the stages are better than many of the small clubs I?ve been to. The atmosphere is a cross between a carnival and New York Noise , with a bunch of friendly hippies thrown in for good measure. Sound waves can also travel trough liquids and solids. The velocity of a sound wave depends on the temperature of the medium and its elasticity (more elasticity means that molecules will move easily).

Sound accompanies us and can tell us where we are and who we’re with. Sound is produced from the flute when the player blows across the mouthpiece, causing vibration of the column. This image shows how the sound waves of different instruments might look. Sounds share the problems of secondary qualities: does a tree falling alone in the forest make any sound? See primary/secondary qualities .

Sound is a waveform that travels through matter. Although it is commonly associated in air, sound will readily travel through many materials such as water and steel. Sound propagates as waves of alternating pressure , causing local regions of compression and rarefaction .

Particles in the medium are displaced by the wave and oscillate. Sound Forge 9 software has a complete set of tools for recording audio. Record straight into your sound card or use the Record Timer to begin and end a session at a specific time and date.

Sounds of frequencies above the range of normal human hearing, higher than about 20,000 Hz, are called ultrasonic . Sound is transmitted through gases, plasma, and liquids as longitudinal waves , also called compression waves.

Through solids, however, it can be transmitted as both longitudinal and transverse waves . Sound is a type of waveform . This means that you can draw a sound as a graph , with the x-axis (the horizontal one) representing time and the y-axis (the vertical one) representing the position of whatever’s making the sound.

Music has been written for such a glass harmonica. A bent saw blade, whistles, horns and sirens are other possibilities. Music fans will be able to purchase higher quality DRM-free digital music for personal use, and listen to it on a wide range of digital music players and music-enabled phones.

Sound waves propagate in all or most directions from a sounding object, but the corresponding sounds are not actually heard as propagating in any direction: the only moving sounds are the sounds emitted by a moving source. It follows that if sounds were sound waves in this sense, we would not be hearing them as they are. Sound appraisal staff have the use of several data sources, both public and private. is a global platform for sharing and learning knowledge. For more information on this article topics visit:

Some Points About The Sound Quality Of DVD

DVD or Digital Versatile Disc is a special kind of disc that has a large storage capacity. This disc is mainly used for watching films and music. The sound quality of the Digital Versatile Disc is generally very good. But it depends on the quality of the discs. The more costly the disc you opt for the better will be the sound quality you get from it.

The resolution of DVD sound is better than that of the CD. Even its sound quality is better than that of the CD. It is almost two times better than CD sound. The sound quality of a DVD is very much dependent on the player. To get a good sound you first need a good player. A good player is necessary because only a good player will provide a good sound box. If the sound box is good then it will definitely give a good sound.

DVD sound is mainly of two types. The first is Dolby Digital. It is one of the newest editions in the arena of digital sound. This specific sound is of very good quality. DVDs containing Dolby digital format offer a very realistic sound. This format provides a feeling to the audience that they are experiencing the incident directly, not through a disc.

This format contains one option called surround sound. This gives the listener a feeling that the sound is coming from every direction. Actually in a surround sound format, the sound comes from six different sides. These six sides are, near right, front right, center, near left, front left and the sound that comes from sub woofers. Subwoofers give the sound of low bass. Dolby digital sound is also very popular for films. Many modern cinema halls use this format.

The next is DTS (Digital Theatre Sound). It is a kind of sound that reproduces a theatre like sound. It is almost like Dolby Digital format. However, the sound quality is a bit better than the previous one. This format is mainly of two types. The first is DTS-S which offers four channels. All four of them are matrix encoded. These four channels are, right, left, center, and surround. This system is very much like the standard 35mm optical Dolby stereo. The next is DTS-6 which has six different channels from where sound comes. These six channels are, right, left, right surround, left surround, and subwoofers. This system is very much like 70mm six track magnetic sound.

DTS format is becoming very popular. This format is also used in cinemas. The popularity of the film Jurassic Park also paved the way to its success. The price of this format is also quite reasonable. That is also one reason why people are opting for this system.

If you want very good sound quality from your DVDs, you must have some ideas about the discs. Always buy good discs. Try to opt for the famous brands. The main advantage of good brands is that as they have to maintain a reputation and have to survive in this tough competition, they will never give you any low quality material. It is true that some times they can be a bit expensive. Nevertheless, if you want to get a good output then what is the harm in paying a little more?

About Free Video Download And The 6 Features Of A Good Free Video Download Site.

It is always a happy moment for some of us when it comes to the end of a Friday. This is because we are going to relax from that excruciating week. I personally chose to relax by watching my favourite video (Music video, movies) or playing a video game. Are you like me or just almost like me?

If yes, you know that it is expensive to pay those video rental fees at your video rental store. Not so?

For years, I faced this same situation until I decided that I should look for an alternative to paying those monthly fees to the video rental store so that I can get to take my favourite movies home every friday. Plus on top of the monthly membership fee, I had to pay per movie/video that I was taking home.

What did I do to get away from this situation? I went to google and typed in “free video download”

I was very happy when my search returned 358,000,000 results. “Wow, that is a great number” I said to myself, not knowing that I was in for the worst experience of my life. Don’t get discouraged here, as this experience has turned out to be the best move I made for my life and entertainment.

With the above number, I thought that there are that number of websites where you can get free video download or some thing related to a free video download.

So given that fact that there are many free video download software programs available to download free music videos and video games online, before you use one of those free video download programs you may want to know what you need to look for.

As I stated above,I have joined many free video download sites and I have got the good and the bad experience about them. So here are the 6 things you should look for in a free video download website.

1- There should be no monthly fees or any per video download fee. If any site claims to offer free video downloads and then asks you for any monthly fee of any sort, I recommend that you steer clear of it. However, the best free video download sites will ask for a one time monthly fee just to help them maintain there services and sources for all these videos for you. That is acceptable. From my experience these are the sites that actually give you the real videos you want of high quality.

2- Quality of the videos downloaded: This is some how related to the above point. From my experience, free video download sites that do not ask for a membership fee usually provide low quality videos, some blurred and the likes. You see the most popular video site youtube, there are many videos, it is free to join but what about the quality of the videos you get?

3-Download limits: There should be no download limits what so ever. Most sites limit the amount of videos you can download per day, some per hour and others per session. These are not good and I would not reccommend that you join them.

4-Your safety and the safety of your computer or machine. What I mean here is that you should be worry of most free video download sites. Most have the capacity to infect your computer with viruses, adware and spy ware. For your security and the safety of your machine, you should stay away from these. How do you know that this site will infect your machine with viruses and adware? That is a million dollar question, but my answer is that look for the recommendation of some one who has been there, seen it and experienced it. I have joined many of such free video download sites and I provide a review at my website as you can see in my resource box.

5-How about the number of videos available for you? I think we would all need the site to have as many videos as possible. It would be no good for you to join a site that has only 10 million videos when you can get one with over 100 videos.Look out for such and it is usually listed at the home page of that website where you get to join and become a member of the website.

6-What is in it for you?: You should ask your self this question. By this I mean the variety you get. While most websites will offer one type of videos such as music videos, others will give you access to music videos, movie videos, video games and other software that you can download. I gues it would not be good and valuable for you to join a site that fearures more variety of services and videos for you than the opposite. That would be the best move.

Well, there are many other things I can talk about here such as the customer support, the download speed and many more. But I hope the above can give you a small hint of what you should look for in a free video download website.

M.Planet Lubowa has been a member of several free video download websites. Read his experience with the sites and his honest review of a free video download site And Free Video download Blog

A Brief Information Guide About Audio Codecs

Visit Audio Video Codec for more on audio and video codecs.

Visit Audio Codecs – What are they?

Audio codecs are defined as software applications of hardware devices (with the same kind of software) that can compress audio files and then decompress them. In fact, the codecs used for compression and decompression work with opposite principles, but they are quite similar to each other in the manner of their working.

The formats used by audio formats are any applicable digital audio formats that are commonly used. For transmission over the Internet, codecs can also compress and convert files into streaming audio formats.

The word ‘codec’ is derived from coding-decoding, which is what a codec does. It first codes the digital data into a small compressed form and then plays back the data by reconverting it into the original form.

Audio Codecs – How do they work?

Audio codecs work with the principle of audio compression. This is a process of reducing the size of an audio file so that it is covered within as few bits of data as possible. The idea is to remove all unnecessary sound bits and bundle them into a smaller format so that they are compressed. When the file needs to be played back, a decoding system is put into play which can expand the files again so that they can be played.

Lossless and Lossy Audio Codecs

There are two types of compression that audio codecs can perform. Based on that, they are called as lossless and lossy audio codecs.

Lossless audio codecs retain a copy of the original audio files before converting them, so that any kind of qualitative or quantitative loss becomes reversible. However, this also increases the size of the file even after compression. It is difficult to have a lossless audio codec that can compress an audio file below 50 to 60% of its original size.

Lossy audio codecs are those that do not retain any previous information. They compress the audio to the smallest size possible and transmit them where they are decoded to a playable size. However, there is a danger of loss of data because of the fact that there is no backup created. The brighter side of this is that lossy audio compressed files are substantially smaller in size. These can easily compress the files to 5 to 20% of their original size.

Today, most audio codecs available in the market are of the lossy type. Though they will cause a deterioration of the quality of the file, they are good for online transmission and even storing on discs. For that reason, people prefer lossy audio codecs over the lossless ones.

Audio Codecs – The Tradeoff

There is always a compromise involved when audio codecs are used. It is not possible to predict in advance how these files will be compressed and whether they will play at good quality upon being decompressed or not. This is especially because most codecs used today are lossless. Though this becomes ideal for sending digitally compressed audio files over the Internet, they also mar the original quality of the recording. Hence, these audio codecs are used only sparingly and only in areas that really require them.
